So how bout you travel oustide of qld and you will see that while afl might have a minor following the rugby codes are non existant and the only people that follow that shite is the ex pats from qld and nsw who left those states in search of a better life. AFL is the top dog and its beneath me to entertain even for a moment parity with RU RN or even soccer. Dont embaress yourselves AFL is king end of story.

ABS 4174.0 - Sports Attendance, Australia, 2005-06 the most popular sports in australia were listed in order 1. AFL 2. Basketball 3. Cricket 4. Dog racing 5. Harness racing 6. Horse racing 7. Motor sports 8. Rugby Leauge 9. Rugby Union 10 Soccer (outdoor) 11. Tennis

yeah and league and union are not even 3rd rate sports outside of those two isolated insignificant states. Vic AFL #1 SA AFL #1 WA AFL #1 TAS AFL #1 NT AFL #1 NSW AFL#3 QLD AFL #3 Id say afl is going ok mate. According the australia bureau of statistics afl is #1 by a long way for support and participation The rugby codes come in behind horse racing and dog racing for fucks sake! and poor old

I dont live in Perth I live in Adelaide I spent most of my life in Sydney So 3rd rate sport? In the media it is 2nd rate, and at my school their was more talk about AFL than rugby league. Most didnt even know how many teams are Australian in the super 14. And every day their wil be an article of the AFL in the Daily Telegraph. OK maybe a small paragraph or 2 and it wont be anybody but the swans. But your last comment, about barely news worthy crap. Completely agree in the case of the advertiser

Hey dip shit we are well on track to getting to the world cup
shauny83 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Hey mate travel outside of Perth you will realise that AFL is a 3rd rate sport in Qld after League and Union and the same in NSW after League and cricket. When the AFL season is over it doesnt get a mention till just before the next season unlike The West Australian which will find some crappy barely news worthy footy article and whack it on the back page.

Im with you on that this poor misguided 18 year old riggy. Ben Cousins has had his 3 strikes and i will do something I thought I never would comend Brisbane St kilda and other clubs for not entertaining the thought of drafting a drug addict

agreed, huge fan but this made me laugh at first, this used to have so many good comments but than EvilWarlock666 came along and ruined it.

what will force it to die. The surge of soccer, LOL crowds down 21.4% from last year, Looks like it will die off, and than that leaves more people to follow other sports. You'll be suprised, in 15 years AFL will have more support in QLD and NSW than soccer. A-League will fold within 15 years, the question is will the NRL fold as well. IMO rugby league in Sydney will lose a lot of clubs and people will jump to AFL, if you truly believe your comment you will be truly suprised when you are wrong.
