American networks are afraid of taking risks and too many Americans are bemused and befuddled by Australian and English humour rather than just going with the flow and developing a taste for it. Coca Cola diplomacy means that the rest of the world "gets" most American humour, but it's a one way street. Joe Blow from Wichita probably has never been further than his nearest regional centre, let alone a different country. Australians are more receptive to different ideas and cultural experiences.
