Highway 61 is the road where Bessie Smith had her traffic accident, where she died on the way to the black hospital after being refused service at the nearer (white) hospital.

I enjoyed the slideshow especially that road west of Green River Utah, US 6, I believe where it is merged with 50. I know those twin bridges in New Orleans. The tune is the one so many have covered because it's universal in its message, both literal and metaphorical. The art is in the delivery. Nothing like hearing the original. Who wasn't influenced by this great delta player in the last century and this one too?

It's named after a Robert Johnson song but its actually the riff from this song. and its a robert Johnson tribute cover.

It is acoustic... All the gain here came from the mics, the guitars were acoustic... As far as I know he never even picked up an electric.

Um...Ever heard "Travelling Riverside Blues" by Led Zeppelin? It's a Robert Johnson song.

Muddy Waters influenced the Stones more than Johnson though.
His guitar playing is sick. He was ahead of his time.
